Floating Name Game
It is as if I am playing a living fantasy game. All around me is a camp of people. If I look at any one of them long enough, their name appears above their head with their occupation listed below. We have recently won some money for something. In the dream, I flash to 5 over-large checks (think, Publishers Clearing House style) and they are with the woman with the dreadlocks. A priestess, I think. I look across the street to see five cats sitting under a bush. They all look like my sisters cat, Stormy, black and white spots. I pet one but tell them to get back under the bush because this is a busy road.
A man walks up across from me. His name and occupation appear after some staring. He tells me the priestess is missing because I destroyed the part of the land that connected her to us. I try to wrap my mind around how I could have destroyed something by thinking about it but I head off toward where he says the woman is. I pick my path carefully across a thin line of rock but reach her and over a dozen others. We start heading back, through a school of all things, and we split up. I think to myself, I will let others lead the party for now and I will memorize everyone's name and occupation. That will come in handy later when I need to organize them. Indeed, others lead the party for a time although one boy takes us off on a personal trip and we have to turn around. I scowl at him.
Another girl leads us into a room with a floating woman. Her name is fae*-something, I remember it had a lot of letters. Her occupation is "adventurer." She starts going on about how there could be peace if the nations prayed for each other instead of throwing paper at one another. Everyone sits there mesmerized but I say, "So we should pray for Libya instead of tossing spitballs at them?" For some reason I think this is clever and so does she because she stops talking. Then she turns into two small points of blue light floating against a black void. That lasts for a while and then she is gone. After, me and the others make it back to camp with the checks.
