More Airplanes

(note: second time in a week I've dreamed of floating blue lights. Strange)

Waiting to take off on a flight. I'm laying in bed in a small motel room. Then my flight is approaching. I need to get out of bed and make my way to the plane which is parked in the street outside the motel. I get on board and trade places with an elderly stewardess. I overhear her talking to another stewardess. She says, "boy, this pilot is an idiot." Great.

Then the dream flashes to the outside of the airplane where I realize we are taking off from the about the 20th floor of the inside of a hollowed out skyscraper. I also realize that this is a military facility. Everything is around the plane is glowing blue. As quickly as we take flight, we are surrounded by stealth aircraft doing donuts around the plane, flying past the plane in the opposite direction, and keeping pace with the plane. Hovering around each stealth aircraft is three floating blue lights.

Plane Ride

I am late for my flight. I show the flight attendent my boarding pass. She glances at it and lets me on to the plane. Just as I get onboard the plane takes off. I can't find a seat so I show another attendent my boarding pass. She says there has been a mistake and this plane is going to Mexico. I ask her if I will be in trouble with the Mexican government for not having my passport. She tells me that I will. I ask her if I can get a refund on my ticket. She says that I won't.

Suddenly, my viewpoint is from outside of the plane. We've taken off but can't get into the air. The plane is flying under freeways and between the support beams of bridges. Suddenly, below us, I see that the police have cleared a section of road between skyscrapers. The plane goes in for a landing at touches down on the road. As soon as we come to a stop, the outter frame of the plane dissappears and I climb out of my seat and start walking down one of the side streets into a shopping district. I realize that this will have made the news and that I need to call my friends and my parents. When I talk to my mother she says that the news is saying there may have been foul play.

Floating Name Game

It is as if I am playing a living fantasy game. All around me is a camp of people. If I look at any one of them long enough, their name appears above their head with their occupation listed below. We have recently won some money for something. In the dream, I flash to 5 over-large checks (think, Publishers Clearing House style) and they are with the woman with the dreadlocks. A priestess, I think. I look across the street to see five cats sitting under a bush. They all look like my sisters cat, Stormy, black and white spots. I pet one but tell them to get back under the bush because this is a busy road.

A man walks up across from me. His name and occupation appear after some staring. He tells me the priestess is missing because I destroyed the part of the land that connected her to us. I try to wrap my mind around how I could have destroyed something by thinking about it but I head off toward where he says the woman is. I pick my path carefully across a thin line of rock but reach her and over a dozen others. We start heading back, through a school of all things, and we split up. I think to myself, I will let others lead the party for now and I will memorize everyone's name and occupation. That will come in handy later when I need to organize them. Indeed, others lead the party for a time although one boy takes us off on a personal trip and we have to turn around. I scowl at him.

Another girl leads us into a room with a floating woman. Her name is fae*-something, I remember it had a lot of letters. Her occupation is "adventurer." She starts going on about how there could be peace if the nations prayed for each other instead of throwing paper at one another. Everyone sits there mesmerized but I say, "So we should pray for Libya instead of tossing spitballs at them?" For some reason I think this is clever and so does she because she stops talking. Then she turns into two small points of blue light floating against a black void. That lasts for a while and then she is gone. After, me and the others make it back to camp with the checks.

Strange Orders, Stranger Scenery

I am standing in front of a small table receiving orders from a man sitting on the other side. We are outside under a canvas tent. He says that I need to report to one of the light-hills. I look out behind me and see a rolling field with a larger hill about a half-mile off behind the field. As I watch, small lights begin to appear on hill-crests in the field. They glow an off-white. That moment I realize that the lights themselves follow a cycle of greater and lesser luminosity. Then I glance at the hill behind the field. It is a graveyard. I think to myself, At least it is not later in the cycle. The dead wont have a chance to come out of their graves until sunday.

Grandma and the Nuns

I walk into a room and recognize three of the elderly Nuns from my catholic college and my grandmother sitting or laying on top of cushions. I greet each of the nuns first but can only remember one of the nuns' names. I spend a little bit of time with each one. When I am done, I look at my grandmother and realize that she is really the one I want to talk to. I walk over to my grandmother and look up to realize that the nuns have dissappeared. She is lying down under a blanket with her feet sticking out. Suddenly I am back at the nursing home/care facility where she died. She reaches for a joint (pot) which is in an ashtray in front of her. I put my hand on the joint and ask her not to take it. She just looks at me but she withdraws her hand. She says, "I want to get out of this hospital, Michael. I really really want to get out." And she kicks off the blanket that she was lying under.

School Anxiety

I am in a school. Apparently I was supposed to start classes. I realize that I am late for an english class. I nearly don't go becuase I have forgotten my homework but I decide - finally - to walk into class. The teacher stares at me. The other students stare at me. I tell her that I don't have my homework but ask if I can turn it in for late credit. She says no, which is really embarrassing, but then class starts up again and people stop staring.

Chasing Girls in Antarctica

I realize that I am in antarctica. It looks a lot like how i'd expect alaska to look, including sparse human populations, main roads and highways. My friend and I are chasing a girl but I don't know why we're trying to catch her. I am driving a sort of dune-buggy-like car across an uneven red-brown landscape with boulders and ditches (come to think of it it looks more like mars than alaska). My car breaks down. My friend - the only one who could fix the car - has dissappeared. I spot the girl I am chasing on top of a hill with another guy, she is ringing the doorbell of a house trying to get someones attention. I sneak up the hill andI grab her and her friend's legs and pull them down the hill. I suddenly realize that she knows how to fix the car and I can force her to fix it for me.
